What do we do? We leave the engine where it shoud be - on the standard subframe holes!

Also gives plenty of room for an intercooler!

Changing to spi frame also needs spi tie bar and spi gearchange selector rods... Far too much work for fook all gain!

You leave it in the standard place, but use the lengthened adjuster from minispares to push the top of the engine around 10-15mm forwards. This gives room for the turbo. I don't know why yours is is so close as standard - A-series subframes, engines and manifolds, etc are all the same dimensions, so assuming you've used the same box as others, you shouldn't have a problem...
If you use the standard rods after moving it forwards, you'll be stretching and tearing the rubber bobbins under the gearlever - and your lever will end up dropping and landing on the floor before too long.
I'm back in the UK till Thursday!

The reason we put as bulkhead box in is to make room for the turbo, obviously gav your box is crap not allowing enough space for the turbo.i must admit the quality of these item are not good and the instructions leave alot to be desired.

As TD said tilting the engine slightly forward will give you that little bit more space at the back bringing the turbo away from the bulkhead.this can be done by lengthening the top steady, the auto one is longer out of the factory.

If you move the engine forward you will add to the cars already understeering charactoristics and leave less space up front for extra cooling or an intercooler.

If you realy did have the desire to move the engine forward the existing subframe could easily be modified instead of a new suframe, grasstrackers often move the engine forward for more traction off the line.

Happy Maxpower reading...*happy*
