It's been a cold one today don't you think. Winter is on it's way. *frown*
Started the mini up today wasn't much of a struggle but it was for the oil pressure. It seemed like forever to rise, once it did it was fine. Later in the day I decided to do a little timing test. From cold (and I mean sitting for 9 hours) it took 14 seconds for pressure to show on my TIM Mechanical Gauge. Once I got back home I knocked the engine off waited 5 minutes and restarted. This time the pressure took 3.5 seconds to show.
The oil that is currently in is Millers CTV 20-50. I'm assuming that as my gauge is the last thing to recieve oil pressure then thats why I'm getting a delay.
What are your gauges reading gents?

I think the Tim gauge is useless for accuracy, my mini has one at the moment, going to change it for a smiths when I get the chance.

mine takes a while, a lot longer than usual. id say about 6 seconds (with a bit of revving to 1.5k)

It would more than likely rise faster with a little throttle but I tried just with the choke out to give me an idea.

The oil drains out of my gauge over time and is slow to build pressure on first start, check the oil light goes out when it's started. If it does I wouldn't worry about it.

Also try bleeding the gauge. I found my smiths gauge took aaaages to respond. When i bled the line to it it whipped over in no time.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I am guessing that the light is not on for all that time?

I haven't got a light on my dash as I couldn't find anyone that sells the bulb holder.
