Australia oi oi oi!

i have a rebuilt set up at the moment hif44 with mini spares water filled manifold ready to bolt.

will be using this carb for my supercharger set up once i set up mega jolt.

you reckon for now short term i should just use the hif44 set up instead of the twin su's

is there much gain.

my engine spec is a

1293
rc40
fully worked turbo phil head 8.5.1 comp
266cam
1.3 ratio full roller rockers

hif44 with K&N cone filter

bling factor cermaic extractors.

im not sure what need to run either

I have a BER & a BFY needle

i have never used a hif44 carb or tuned one.

do they fit or will i need to remove the spacer plate?

i did a basic search but i would think this is a pretty basic question NA related really.

don't want to venture over to TMF though lol. :)

The Cross Sectional Area of the body (ie, ignoring jet bridge and piston) of an HIF44 is 1520mm^2 and for a pair of 1 1/4" is 1580mm^2, ie, sod all difference.

So the theoretical maximum flow capacity is very similar.

The HIF doesn't have the horrible external jet movement with linkage that jams, doesn't have the leaking fuel tubes, doesn't need "balancing" as there will only be one..... all in all, a far better solution IMHO.

For absolute performance the twin 1 1/4"s probably have the edge but the HIF is easier to adjust (so you're more likely to get it right) and if you're going to use it with the SuperCharger, you may as well get used to it now *smiley*

The spacer plate will depend on your inlet and exhaust manifold combination and which version of the metal plate that holds the throttle and cold start cables you use.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

thanks Rod well the twins have been a pain.

got them tuned a few times now.

go out of balance a bit when they are sweet they go great.

i had to tune them a bit more my self to get it right.

so touchy these stupid things!
