hi all

just got few questions thought i would ask the pro s

just bought a metro turbo 1.3 with a side mounted turbo :)

now for bad bits (think the pr owner was bit of a cowboy builder lol )

getting white smoke out the exhaust which thickens and thins every minute or 2 also smells sweet like anti freeze then smells abit oily the next *oh well* also when turn engine and just leave running on the drive for say 5-10 min then turn of water boils out the coolent tank *frown* also just noticed that the previous owners blanked the clutch casing breather connection

any help would be great cheers (new to the mini-metro scene)

Sounds like the head gasket could be gone to me.

Have you got a pic of the car?

Get hold of a compression tester and check each cylinder.

I don't think we where slating the car, just the sellers hopeless description and poor attitutde.

The car itself didn't look bad and it sounded like the engine had been built to a descent spec. I've seen it for sale a few times.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I personally would steer clear of the 6R4 kit, just lots of weight. also, with the standard suspension, you'll never get the wheels looking right and the car driving right.

something like this (but not orange)with 150+bhp would be my plan

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Funnily enough we wound the boost down on the van to about 9/10psi last night and it was a much nicer machine to drive. Far less insane.
