Hi,

I wonder if there is any potential issue to keep on using a turbo which exhaust housing is cracked.



The crack starts on the waste gate seat.

Can the crack be stopped by drilling a small hole a the end of it ?

It is quite common. In extreme casess it can lomit maximum boost owing to leakage.

Yes as has been said. all the above and also some people say it can make a little more lag. Due to leaking, but that's it.

hey guys, ive had a look on various threads about cracked turbos but they all only have 1 crack, mine has 2 cracks both pertruding from the wastegate, but theyre quite big, would you replace the housing? or leave it.

one of them isnt too bad, but the other is quite large and continues past the wastegate opening (looking into the turbo from flange) by about 15mm
