Anyone know?

Also for reference, what is this for a-plus blocks? 12mm seems to be floating round as a figure.

Thanks

James

you will have no worries decking the block to get the pistons up. I have removed 7 mm on mine, and it is still thick.

Oli, thanks for the offer. I'll let you know if I need one.

Miniminor, I forgot about yours. I'm kinda thinking along the lines of SA crank, modified standard rods, and deck the block to bring the pistons flush or close to the top, then deliver 20psi via a gt17.

The reason behind the short stroke engine is that when doing track days etc, I want to be reving to 8k without wondering if I'm going to break a crank or be caning the bearings due to crank flex. Its more a reliabilty thing then looking to turn to silly rpm, but I'd probably set the limit to 8500 or something for when I really wanted to nail it. Basically allow it to stay together for 2 years between tear downs to replace consumables.

i have no equptment to measure the depth bar some vernier`s....

from top of block to water pump appreture.

1275GT (Gold Seal) 690 thou (17.53m) Ish
1300GT 700 thou. (17.78mm) Ish
998 A+ 400 thou. (10.16mm) Ish

Although not an exact figure, it gives an idea.

Interestingly though. the oil ways seem to be shallower at 375thou (9.525) 1275gt and 1300gt

Couldent get to an A 998 or an a+1275 as they are all in a big storage cabinet and im lazy!

Two issues you may run into.

Belt tension
Water pump. (Electric may be required)

Thanks Sam, very useful stuff.

I'll start a proper thread about it soon, when I have decided exactly what to do.
