can anyone help my metro turbo will start and run but then will just die down nd cut out any common probs ect? the fuel sender is not connected up tho as the fuel lights always on and fuel gauge sez empty but i have put 2 cans of fuel in it

disconect the oil pressure light wire for a min,give that a go,

Disconnecting the oil pressure switch won't help. You need to disconnect it and short the wire to earth to get the fuel pump to run. |

ok tryed that still seems to be the same will run for abit u can rev it fine then it will ither cut out on its own or die as u go to rev it

well tryed all sorts now timing is good changed fuel pressure regalator card...runing better idling nicer will rev up good but as soon as u let of the throtle and it comes back down to idle it will just die any ideas

check the compression ratio, first! the head gasket may be blown, making you go down the wrong track ?

ok well im nt to sure if fuel pump is faulty or if it has been wired wronge but onli seams to cum on as u crank it then it gose off

Check the wiring for the oil pressure switch & light.

well looks like some one who has had the metro befor me has ran a wire from around the steering colum some where to the fuel pump so not sure how its wired in will have to check how its been done |

just traced full pump wire back and it gose straight on to ignition barel and it is twisted on to ti and it looks like flymo cable lol |

havnt checked yet im guessing its ment to be on the starter? but it was going straight off so i ran a wire from battry to try get the car to work runs alot better but i got about half a mile for home if that takin it easy about 20-25mph and i cut out started it again and again just kept cutting out wouldnt rev at all so i walked the rest of the way to work on my dinner break i went to get the car started good got about half a mile again done the same thing so towed it the rest of the way |

been thinking i wonder if my return pipe in the tank if partially blocked from when i used the tank sealer kit in my tank and is not letting the fuel back in to the tank quick inuf so it is building up back to the reg anyone have any ideas would the cause what i said above in my last post

hi again all right i have tryed everything now changed carb fuel pressure reg fuel pumps iv changed the tanks for the one of my n reg injection metro with pump in tank...it will idle and run good but as soon as u get to about 2 nd half 3k rpm it will just start juddering and spluterin wont go any more but at idle will rev up fine

Have you tried changing the carb balance pipe for a new piece of fuel hose? Have you still got the anti-run on valve fitted? |

will try that tomoz and yes have anti run on valve fitted? i have tryed blankin it off but the car will not start plus evan if u pull it off and blank it on revs it will just cut out

bit of an up date got it to run with out the anti run on valve but seams to be now asoon as the boost comes on its starts to spluter as if its nt getting inuf fuel.

Sounds like fuel.

My metro did this I'm sure it was the fuel pump relay, it would pump on crank and then not when running. It was enough to start and drive down the road a little way. |
