Something a bit different.
09 Jan 11 - These items are now sold.
1.48 inch (37.59 mm) anti reversion RIMFLO inlet valves designed by David Vizard and developed / marketed for the Mini by Paul Ivey of Race Engine Components.
The ones I have are very big, suiting a highly flowing, high torque 1380 engine, or bigger cc motor.
Whilst they can be fitted with 29mm exhaust valves, they get very cosy so are probably best fitted with offset valve guides. Further advice can be found in Vizards "Tuning BL's A Series Engine's".
Some marketing blurb from one of the Mini parts supplier websites :
"Rimflow valves are considered to be the best valves on the market. They are produced in EN214N steel but have chromed plated stems to enable them to be installed with iron guides although we recommend bronze guides as these help with heat dissipation. Rimflow valves use single groove collets (88G459)."
I bought these ages ago but only used them in a modded head for about 500 miles.
I've just done a polish clean-up and they're all mint, including the rocker contact faces.
The lowest new price from Minispares is a sale price of £18.22 each plus VAT (normally £22 each plus VAT).
I'm asking £45 for the 4, including UK delivery.
I can also supply used 180 lb double valve springs, collets and top caps for these valves for an additional £15 if you need them.
A bloody fantastic set of inlet valves if you're building an all-out barn-storming modded head.
PM me if interested or if you would like any further details.
Sorry about the poor quality pics - my phone is useless at close ups.
Cheers.
Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
