Reads "my mates" max power whilst wearing my Mrs's underwear

after spending about 5hours constantly ! trying to connect my speedo cable i came to the conlusion it dont fit ! lol
i was thinking about getting the dremmel on it to grind the end of the cable smaller, do you reckon this would work ?

probably fray badly id guess. There are different square sizes though, metty one tends to be smaller IIRC

yeah had the same problem with mine, a metro speedo drive is definately smaller than a mini one. plus it'll never read the right speed anyway. i just use one of them digital ones now, far better!

Thats in a box waiting for me to fit on mine. loosing the speedo drive can reduce friction in the box quite a bit if you take all the rubbish out apparently.

A mini needs a large speedo in the middle and 10 inch wheels or it aint no mini.

That is my final word on this mater Iain I dont think a dyno will show any loss of power from a speedo drive but if any one can confirm it I will gladly eat my words *wink*

I bought a smiths extra long land rover speedo cable to make mine reach on my dash, fit perfect. 89' metro engine

Every we bit counts sometimes but I am sure most of us use our minis on the road and the last 10th of a horse power dosnt mater that much surely but I get the point

I am also suprised that the speedo drive can account for much drag? Have you ever turned one by hand off a box, they turn dead easily with little or no resistance.....

Maybe that increases a lot with speed, but still seems an odd thing to cause a lot of drag.
