I need to order a replacement wideband as the van is keeping mine. Potentially fancying the Analogue version. Has anyone any experience of these compared to the normal digital ones? Are they more difficult or easier to read etc?

easier to read at a glance but numbers are better imo, the aem uago does both though?

normally i prefer analogue gauges BUT (asume your the same!?) when it comes to AFR i can tell quicker at a glance with a number than a gauge if i'm in trouble, its more intuitive.. guess it depends what your used too though.

Digital (numbers) again for me.

Everything else, dials with pointers but for some reason it's more intuitive to see AFRs as a number.

My TechEdge displays have an analogue bar scale below the number (they are rectangular displays, not circular, but same principle as the dual displays above) and I completely ignore the analogue bar scale....

I've even changed the AFR "dial gauges" to rectangular digital ones on the laptop for the data logging and tuning software.

How well/quickly would the analogue gauge react? The digital one on the van seems to be constantly changing

I would imagine that it will be stepper motor controlled so will be a sweep action.

I have a analogue egt guage which is good. But AFR is digital alot easier just to glance at. I now have the tech edge guage the same as rod s. Stands out perfectly!

i prefer analogue in general, its easier to differentiate in my head

but to be fair, the digital aem gauge has an 'analogue'ish led around the bezel too, and as above, its nice to glance over and see 12:1 looking right at you

Digital for me, don't have to focus on the gauge before you can work out what the number is, although it only probably takes a few milliseconds longer, its enough to make a difference.

You can usually work out what it says just by looking at it with your peripheral vision which is handy too.

we noticed the other night that the digital one reflected in the windscreen when it was dark. It was back to front, but kind of a heads up version.

So you and John go out late at night when it's dark...

and find things "back to front"....

and "heads up".....

I have the AEM Uego wideband guage, the new ones are very good and very accurate,

i had to set the offset to 0.1 it just reads slightly richer than true, but that might be my setup and sensor position

hey john,

its the digital display one in the middle and has analogue LEDs arround the outside, i have to say i much preffer just looking at the digital numbers though, i find it much easier to read the digital numbers at a quick glance!
