Hi everyone I'm hoping to paint my 1971 Clubman before Christmas
this year LOL . (funny I said the same thing this time last year).

its been totally striped down to bare metal and made good as new
its now sat in singe pack primer waiting to be painted .

I think this is the thing that makes or breaks a car.
I will be most great full for any suggestions or pictures .

I'm planning on going for a period standard looking car on 10" Rostyles ,

All the inertia is been re covered in black genuine leather with a set of low back cobra buckets up front.

Ive even been toying with the idea of having a black vinyl roof.

Thanks Darren

What does the log book say. I always think that cars are happier in their original(ish) colour.

My car's log book says black. The HPI report says it's had 3 colour changes, so no idea what colour it originally was.

I like them in antelope beige with a black roof.

I guess it's down to what look you want for the car. If your going for a retro look then original colours are best, but if not the worlds your oyster.

Vinyl on the outside? Have a look at my build thread and you'll see why I wouldn't recommend that.

Clubmen are best in anything between orange and yellow.

I like Russet brown and would never think of changing mine to anything else however:

It is hard to find another colour to go with brown for the engine and other details (assuming you didn't want the Austin green)

If people ask what colour your car is before seeing it they laugh when you say brown or go blugh.

Plus Markgts clubby is one of the nicest on this site and it's grey which works well if you don't mind something not typically '70s

6X10 Minilites and Gp2 arches.

I've now fitted gp5 arches, but I don't think I've got any good pictures.

I found one.

Thanks Vegard. I'm looking at Carl's 6x12s and group 2s when I get that far. Might end up needing group 2 wides though...

I like MarkGTT's grey Clubby and one of my mates has a matt black Clubby van which I love!

I don't really think any specific colour suits it more, it's all down to what you prefer :)

I personally prefer darker colours and pretty much anything purple and blue *happy*
