have you configured the MJ software to use the correct port?

Have a look in device manager (right click my computer, click manage, option on the left) and see what port the USB - serial adaptor has taken and configure that in the software.

Also, check the MJ unit is powered up.

Have you downloaded a driver for the chipset in the adaptor?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I have exactly the same problem i have installed V4.0.2 and installed my usb parrallel reader but when i open up the software it shows in the bottom middle a message "timeout reading cylinder count" usb drivers are installed also, i have tried 2 diffrent ports on my laptop currently running windows vista, then have gone through the steps checked with multi meter the correct pins to the parralell port go into the mega jolt set correct com number (COM 10) and then applied a 9v
battery illuminating the light on the box started the program up again and still the same message

It might not be the issue in this case, but a lot of software routines don't accept COM port numbers above 9 on the USB/serial converters even though you can select and display them.

Allways try to use low COM numbers with these convertors.

They are also sensitive to which USB port you plug them into (if your laptop has more than one) and will often change COM numbers when plugged into a different socket and sometimes even need the drivers re-installing when this happens. I use three eBay specials (£1.50 each) and I have them all labelled as to which socket they go in on both laptop and desktop to avoid having to re-install the drivers every time I swap things around.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
