For you guys that have done this before, I am wanting to cut the end cap off and rotate it 90degrees so it faces upwards, what material is it made from? So I can nick a couple of rods from work Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

You will need an AC TIG welder to weld the end tanks.

The end tanks on the Cossie intercoolers are very thick and sturdy, and made from a good material. That was what my welder told me at least. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

Yes they are quite thick. Benny have you got a bandsaw to cut the end tanks off square and neat? This is the key to making a job of it. I can do this if you want to bring it round.

Yes on my cossie cooler the material is thick and looks in good condition should be ok to weld. Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs
