Been out the garage today busy with the grinder so front of complete,and box half in.

i replaced the wire guide in my welder with a tefon carke one, as mine kept sticking too. was easy enough to do (i have an el cheapo SIP welder) wuitha few modifications. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

If you want to run an extra engine steady you will need to weld on a braket onto the firelwall/bulkhead as the mounting (left hand drive master and clutch cylinder holes) will have been half removed by the box.

Box looks O.K. but the welds could be better considering that the area thats been cut out is a major structural part of the shell. If I when you I'd renew the bowden cable liner in your welder. It's the part that looks like a bicycle brake cable running from the welder to the torch. These should be replaced periodically because rust can build up in the liner which is transfered to the wire causing it to start and stop when your trying to weld creating a poor weld. |

I didn't bother welding a bracket for the engine steady, i just made a new one like this. |

Thanks for replies,got all the bits to re-furb the welder today think I will leave the bracket as I can always bolt something through afterwards as I have no carpets heater etc(saving wieght)
