Is anybody running a paddle clutch plate...

Im thinking of using one in my car but I'd apreciate your views first.

Hopefully my car will be pushing around 150-160bhp, however it wil be a road car... not my everyday car but will still do a fair few miles going to shows etc..

Is the paddle a good idea? or will it piss me off royally

cheers

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Dave swears by his organic plate and puts it down to his good 1/4times without an lsd as you can feed it in.

Ill try one of these plates first i reckon, not the end of the world to change it.

Drove a mini with a paddle plate and found it like a switch, could'nt feed it in smoothly, not nice for road use. Im using an AP rally plate/grey diaphram with no probs.

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Grey diaphragm with rally/race plate will be fine for most applications. Daves engine has over 150ft/lb of torque and he has no problems with this setup. It's also fine for road use.

Well I've been using the AP rally plate for years. I've never had big problems with it but I can still cook it if I'm not careful, that's with slicks of course. I reckon uit'd be fine on road tyres.

Ive got a sintered paddle clutch for this year though as I lost a few good runs last year with the AP slipping after a few to many enmergency starts .

Have you set up the clutch correctly with a flat diaphragm? I'm sure most turbos could get away with an orange plate if done correctly. A decent 1400/286 engine may use a blue one...

I guess it's down to pub-points :)
The stiffer the spring, obviously the more horsepower. ( not aimed at you Wil)

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
