is the relay a NC or NO? (normally closed, normally open)??? Also could the starter be getting stuck? and by relay im assuming the "starter killer" is a relay?

the yellow wire goes to the 86 then the 2nd stage ignition goes to 85 (white?) then it seems that the green wire is your solenoid wire (the red and white one???) just cut that and put each end onto the relay... sorry if this is gubbins, its hard to explain this type of thing when you dont have it in front of you (including the car wiring)

im not too sure myself but heres a pic of the relay

ive got the connection at 30 connected to the red and white wire on the ignition, ive got the connection at 85 connected to the white and green wire (2nd stage), and the yellow cable from the mainframe going to connection 86, ive connected the 87A wire to the starter motor (ive got a inertia starter motor ive undone the bolt that holds the connecting wire to the starter motor and put the wire from 87A there i don't know if this is to blame)

yes thats the problem, the 87a needs to goto the solenoid... not direct on the starter... wouldnt be surprised if you havent fried your wiring? i think it should goto the little spade connector on the solenoid which should also be red and white... your supposed to cut the red and white wire and in effect put the 2 connectors on the relay in between

i dont fully understand about cutting the red and white wire at the ignition. so i cut the red and white wire and connect that to the green wire going to connection 30. and then the 87A goes straight to the spade connector on the solenoid is that right
