Hi guys, i've tried this on a fiesta forum but they know sod all about stuff, so i'll try here.

My daily hack is a 58 reg Fiesta TDCI 1.6. Nice enough car, its nearly done 60k so its warranty has nearly run out. And there;s a intermittent problem with it.

Basically sometimes when i come off the motorway and stop at a roundabout, when i pull away it has no power, to me it feels like the turbo is not kicking in. reason being it that its normal up until about 1500 rpm then its as gutless as Marty Mcfly.

My knowledge of turbos isn't great, one of the things i was thinking was maybe the wastegate was sticking so it was dumping all the boost. i cant imagine the turbo isnt spinning, if the exhaust gases weren't turning it then wouldn't there be such a restriction that it would just stall?

I'll take it in to the dealer soon, just wanted to try and sound like i know what i'm talking about first.

Thanks

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Take it back, tell them that the turbo keeps cutting out. Just make sure you get the claim logged well befoer the warenty is out
