not quite a year but on the 11th of december it will have been a year since i passed out of basic training and im finally getting some where lol. Im almost at the end of my basic electronics course, i passed my BE5 exam which i was bricking it about in the end i got 69%. Earlier the ASM (artificer sergant major) came in to speak to us and i start CEA (common engineering applications) on the 17th of january and from there il move onto my equipment course. Im hoping to  train on MLRS (multi launch rocket system) on be posted in newcastle and go on ops! *happy*
i should get my first stripe around may hopefully a extra 4k a year or 4/500 a month up to £1500 *happy*

Here is a MLRS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IXO1YqSbeE&feature=related

Basically it is a lorry with around 80rockets i think on the back and it can fire accurately from up to 90km away and thats with 2m!! We use them to destroy bunkers and take out enemy postitions. We have different rounds to we can have one penetrate a bunker and then go off inside therefore kiling everyone inside, we can have it come it in at a angle to protect targets or have it come in straight from above, you wont even know its coming!

Sweet, I must admit I am semi considering changing to a career in the military myself.

I guess most people signing up are straight out of school college? I'm pretty much 30 now, so i'd probably be considered the old guy.

no not at all! well iv been in over a year though and i went through training with a guy who was 30, we had a few old boys actually. It makes it better because they have more life experience and help bring some discipline and that to the youger ones. I think one guy was like 34! And cheers jo

In my unit we have a young man age 50 - 51 or so. all hair is grey. The bastard can still outrun me as long as we carry 30 kg of kit. Especially on an orienteering race, i can´t keep up.

Congrahtulation on the career, Harry *Clapping*

thank you, it makes me proud when people like you show us respect it makes it worth it. And then it also pisses me off when students complain about fees etc and they get discount and we dont!

That looks great.
Im applying to join the army over here. Then thinking the armoured corps. But people keep telling me about the things that can kill tanks. Like the MLRS and the helicopter gunships that kill tanks from behind the line of sight, all by computer lol.
