I have just put in my Turbo metro A+ motor in and with the standard engine stabiliser the engine is hard against the fire wall. Is it necessary to adjust the length of this stabiliser? The stabiliser at the radiator end of the engine does not even come close to fitting, any suggestions. |

Have you modified the fire wall by fitting a box to accomodate the turbo? |

Turbo box fitted to specs as shown on site. I have modified the stabiliser and all seems OK. Radiator is very close to bonnet. I had to do a little Panel beating to the fire wall to get everything to clear. |

did you use a later subframe with the engine mounting holes set further forward,or re-drill your exsisting mounting holes approx half inch further forward?you can use adjustable tie bars or use one off an auto as they are longer.you shouldnt have to panel beat the firewall and rad clearance should not be an issue. |

somethings not right, i put a post up a little while ago about spi subframes, do spi cars use a different rod change as someone said that you stretch the rubbers if you move the engine foward |

I wasn't aware that there were different subframes. The mini is an 850. Not 100% sure what the subframes came out of. The engine mounts seemed to fit quite well though. I think if I was to drill new holes further forward the problem with the radiator may be worse. May just be an issue with an Austrailian radiator? I also had to cut around the front grill to fit a UK starter. The solenoid protrudes a little too far to fit, is this normal. Life wasn't meant to be easy! I will make it work, it might just take a little creativity. |

apparently the metro starter solenoids stick out further than the mini ones.
