It'll fit on the block, but there's a lot you'll have to swap out. I'm not sure if the transfer gears work no problem...

Essentially the rod boxes (DAM2886 or 5626) will fit both small bore and large bore blocks of any age. The shape of the block flanges are slightly different between early/late, small/large bore, but the bolt/dowel holes are in the same place. Just use the correct gasket - the proper kits have three strips to cover both options, just pick the correct two.

You will need the matching A Plus transfer housing and A Plus drop gears because the bearing size for the idler gear is larger in the later gearboxes (A Plus idler has a larger shaft diameter). Technically you should allways use the matching transfer housing anyway (to make sure the two bearings for the idler gear are dead in line with each other) but if you want to use an earlier transfer housing and A drop gears, MiniSpares (and maybe others) do sell a sleeved down bearing assembly you can install in a later casing to make it accept early drop gears.

The only other issue is the tunnel in the car - the rodchange assembly mounts differently and the later tunnels were larger (and square) so you may have clearance issues with rods and exhaust on the earlier round tunnel.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

there is a conversion bracket for the linkage thats advertised on the mini mania site for converting between remote and rod, i made my own but it gets tight in there with the exhaust especially if you are running anything large bore
