is anybody else having trouble with the postal system at the moment?
im waiting alot of parcels for xmas pressies.
as far as im aware alot of stuff is no longer getting sent to scotland

when the postal system is shit at the best of times, why does anyone expect it to be any better during adverse weather conditions AND the silly season Christmas post?

I watched the postman empty the post box the other day at lunch time. They never do that, the sack was brimmed!! Probibly four times as much post at this time of year with the same number of postal workers>>>> its not going to get your parcel there any quicker.

This is why I send and receive through work, buisness post is much quicker.

It's because walking on snow is 'dangerous' for them. Clearly more of a safety issue than for the rest of us.

I think it is more to do with volume of post and moving stuff around the country rather than Pat himself.

They don't have magic trucks with mystic snow tyres driven by Eskimos.

There were still lorries and vans out but alot of the posties refused to deliver as it was 'against their human rights'

I guess it is only fair that postmen risk injuring themselves to deliver the letters. I mean I love going to work knowing that I may come back with a broken leg. Makes working worth while....

Not as far as I know, I don't have the time or interest to read newspapers.

They didn't bother delivering on the main road above mine, where the roads and pavements were gritted and most of the residents had cleared their pathways. I could understand in places like Scotland where the snowfall was actually bad but not down here. It's an excuse to not have to do their job they get paid to do. I still managed to get up, clear the cars and drive and go to work because I don't get paid unless I go in!

I was tracking a parcel and it got loaded onto a truck 4 days in a row before it actually got delivered.

I guess you'll either get it or you won't. Best to be pragmatic rather than blaming someone. I've had to cancel two jobs because of the weather, deliveries have the same access problems as everyone.
