For the price of a head gasket is it really worth risking it go?

I've done it a couple of times. Got away with it once didn't the other.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i have never had any problems..... as there is enough. tension with the remaning front head studs

make sure you are using a good torque rensh, calibrated correctley

Out of principle i would change it due to it being de compressed at certain points. Its not much work to swap over a head gasket.

However, if a head gasket has a good seal why change it, this is the other train of thought. If youve kept tension accross it.

Id try it, if it blows it blows. Nothing lost really.

I,ve done it several times - just drain the water, take the tension off all the head studs and then re-torque afterwards -never had a problem.
