so you get a reducer

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

You can get an idler bearing that allows the use of A idlers in A+ boxes.

The only trouble is fitting a 1275 engine on a NON S 3sync box. that just doesn't work!

yes you would be able to do this. If you are buying all new gears anyway then just get the correct ones for the gearbox casing e.g. A or A+ type. From memory none of the 1098 engines were A+.

The last of the clubby estates were 1098 A+.

yes look at distributor. If it is held by a forked clamp with one bolt it is A+.

If it has a clamp that tightens up around it to hold the dizzy (that fits in a seperate collar) with 2 bolts securing it then it is A series.

A+ boxes have got the larger idler.

But, you may fit an A idler with the correct bearing in an A+ housing.

A+ isn't neccesarily a bonus. The A ones are just as good.
