I got a letter through this afternoon from HMRC about 'changes to my tax code'. There were two letters inside one of which gave me a code because I am apparently 'between jobs' and the other letter had another code that said I apparently have two jobs

I've been working at the same place since July so I don't know where the between jobs bit came from and I work 40 hours a week so I don't really have time for a second job aswell. This happened in June when I got my rebate letter aswell. So I rung them up and was on hold for 15 minutes until someone answered. I told them about the letters and then he went on to tell me apparently the computer says I have two jobs with the same company. Cue the next 20 minutes of me telling him I only have one job title there and I've had the same bollocks with different tax codes before. He then put me on hold again and when he came back he said he would put my tax code back to what it was originally, send me a letter and that he would 'take my word for it' and to top it off in the time it took for him to admit I was right, my bath went cold

I swear they wait until they know it's my bday/Xmas/big event to arse me up.
