Has anybody got one to sell/loan?

I need to drill 1 hole through a 1/2" lump of alu so am a bit reluctant to spend £15 on one...

is it not worth running down to a local engineer? i'm sure a couple of beer tokens would cover them drilling it

I know its an expensive way to go, but I try and buy the drill I need for the job. At least then, next time round you'll have it ready, and it will saves time in the future. *oh well*

If your friendly with a local fabricator they will probably do it for free/a couple of quid.

Thanks lads. I guess I'm just being tight. I've found one for £9, so I may get that.

Alternatively I could drill it out to 20mm and run the rest out on the lathe. Trying to do it accurately, so the hole saw is probably not going to be up to it.

If you can spin the workpiece in the lathe theres no problem surely, Andy ?
Its then as accurate as you are !

The work piece is round (to my amazement) and the hole should be straight down the middle. Unfortunately my lathe and the chimp operating it aren't exactly precise yet *smiley*
