Panel captive nut fitment

Ive been supplied some of these to use with my bulkhead panel. They are for the centre speedo pod screws.

How are they aupposed to be attached to the panel? I can't work out if they need to be welded, or just sort of peened over?

Assuming the inner face (that is the non-hex side) is bevelled inwards then these are what I used to use at work for feet on metal units.

Basically drilled a hole, counter sunk one side and then peen it so it "grips" on the countersunk side if you see what I mean! There are quite a few different types though, and when I say peen, it was just beat it with a hammer quite heavily..

They are bevelled inwards. These will be fitted to a 1.5mm sheet of steel so I won't be able to couuntersink, but im guessing they will work fine anyway?

Thats called a hankbush. Drill a hole insert the round sleeve bit and peen it over. Astons had hundreds of those fitted to them

I seriously doubt it!

I rivnut would be easier to fit, but these look closer to what was originally fitted.

Run a bolt down the wrong side with a washer and crush it into the hole?

Start it with the rounded end of a ball peen hammer, then use the flat end

I seriously doubt it!
