Hey, does anyone know what a standard MPI front mount rad+fan will be like size wise in a standard round nose? Was looking at one today and I imagine it's very tight but can you get away with it using an alternate alternator or anything? Or perhaps move it across and get a smaller starter?

With regards to cooling, would it be up to the job? If not, would it be feasible to leave the side mount and have the front mount in place? Ignoring the hose issues for now that is!

Cheers

I've a bloody tight fit and in my opinion it isn't worth it unless you really like a challenge, you'll need to ditch the dizzy & run engine management, relocate the oil filter and come up with some custom bracketing for the alternator and it's still extremely tight.

I'm running Megajolt anyway so dizzy isn't an issue, would I be better off with just a 2 core side mount do you think?

Heres mine. There is about 5mm clearance between the denso alternator, with the back of the grill trimmed for the fan and the front panel hacked about too.

If necessary you could space the grill a bit, but as I want my car to look standard I just attacked everthing with the grinder/air hacksaw.

It runs hotter then with the side mount radiator I had on before it.

Thanks for the help, I got it anyway because it was cheap enough, at least i'll have options in the future, I may just stick with the side mount based on you saying it runs hotter on the MPI set-up though
