Little more done today, finished steel work and started on the aluminium action of the boot floor using some CAD. Took some time to get the curves right but its pretty much ready for bonding and riveting now.

Decided to fit the scuttle closing panels today, only to realise the ones I had bought are nowhere near fitting. Ended up starting from scratch.

Also started cleaning up the subframe and giving it the religious treatment.

Got a bit more done lately when time allows

Roll cage finally in after much swearing and modification. Started on gussets to tie it in to the B pillar

Seat mocked up to weld in mounts

Had to throw the wheels on so I could measure for coilovers

Hoping that the welding will soon be over and I can play with some spanners or something..

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Good to see it back on all 4s. Some nice little touches like the gussets by the door hinges.

Well spotted Andy, there was a massive amount of flex in the flitch and hinge panel with the door on, and as I wont have a steel front to add strength I felt it was needed.

Did you make the gear stick riser? I want something like that for my clubman when it sees the light of day as it has bucket seats and harnesses

Good work Kean. *smiley*

Is that gear selector riser made from Ali or Stainless Steel? Looks excellent but I would be less trusting if it was made from Ali sheet that thin; could be the photo making it look thinner than it really is though!

Hi Carl

Its made from Ali but trust me is not going anywhere!

The whole car moves if you try and budge it. Its made from a single flat piece rather than individual sides and the flares add a lot of strength.

More little bits getting done when time allows, started on coilover brackets

The below is with the top arm at full droop, the bracket is well clear of the wheel throughout the suspension movement

Made some straps to hold the tank in place.

Pedal box edited

Never liked the amount of flex in the floor so made a brace betwix the rack and subframe mounts

l

Soon be time to strip it all down and put it back on the spit to get ready for paint I hope.

Cheers Kean, only just seen your reply. I'll bare that in mind when I come to make my selector riser.

Be careful of tbe tyre fouking the coilover when hard cornering. Had a similar issue with a friends golf, looked enout room but large sidewalls meant it would catch and grove the tyre.
