1/2" rings a bell but measure before buying as I'm not 100%.

Actually I'm sure its 1/2",

13 should go though, and be really snug.

Its an imperial thread so it'll be 1/2"

I seriously doubt it!

I seem to remember I struggled to find a socket mounted hex bit, so I made my own from an old 1/2" socket and a cut off 1/2 allen key.

leeds/wakefield.

HOl don men, it may be an inperial thread but it is clearly cut from a stock bolt after the origional bolt has been made and blacked, there froe it could be mad eform an M20 for all we know,

i know the ones i made for myself use a bigger allen key than 1/2"

whatever it is screw cut from had to have a core of more than 5/8" to enable it to be turned down to dia ,then have the thread cut in,
just measured my key at 14mm

Actually Carl has point. Upon looking at it again mine is slightly different being about 8 years old, it is a standard cap head bolt with a non threaded portion. The one in the link is a modified bolt by the looks of it

I seriously doubt it!

Beats me why Minispares dont sell the 1/2" allen socket. If they pointed out in the description that the bolt needs this socket and pointed the buyer to the right tool, Im sure they would sell as nearly many sockets as bolts. I have pointed this out to Gavin but it looks like it might have fallen on deaf ears perhaps.
