In my experience Dell direct have been good.

I bought my laptop from http://www.mcscom.co.uk/

They do Dell refurbs, but mine came in a brand new condition with no marks, and a years warranty. I have not had a problem with it. My old place of work used to buy quite a lot from there so can recommend them highly.

Regards,
Luke

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

generaly i used ebuyer or laptops direct
brands we go for at work are acer, asus, msi the first two have very good customer service and we deal with them quite alot

dell are very good aswell

other thing you can try is have a look around currys or pc world find one you like then find it on one of them two sites ul save money then.

also if i were you stick with intel processors as they are more battery efficiant and dont get as hot on ur lap.

seeing as its a laptop you want to be able to have it on your lap with out setting fire to ur nuts!!!

Also check what support they offer for aftersales.

I got robbed by Acer when I bought one direct from them. And the only way to get in contact with them about anything is via a 10p/m phone number. They can go and fuck.

Credit card company were totally useless too and wouldnt even help !!

I placed an order and it passed no problem....then suddenly prices went up and my laptop was no longer available. Despite showing multiple units in stock at the higher price.

The forced me to choose an alternative, which I did clearly stating in writing under no circumstances was a higher amount to be charged to my card

The fuckers still charged it, and the card company wouldnt even do anything about it !! Even took them nearly two weeks to get the wrong laptop to me. I point blank refused to open it, but it was taking yet more days to try and contact via email. They did respon once...but when they realised I wanted the correct laptop supplied or my money back, they never answered again.
No fucking way was I calling some gypsy bastard on a 10p/min phone number so they could get more money from me.

So....I dont recommend Acer lol

That said, despite being robbed, the laptop itself does seem fine.

Bought one from Dell, Lisa is starting her own buisiness so i said i would sort the technology side, sorted the laptop and smart phone now need to set up a home network that she can access out on site.

one thing that shows you need to be carefull, one laptop i looked at was £479 in staples and £579 at laptops direct who you would think would be cheaper!

I've seen some very good value laptops on ebay, I bought a new dell from ebay about a year ago, the back-lit keyboard didn't work when I got it, I e-mailed Dell directly and they said they'd send out an engineer but I took the laptop apart a little and found the ribben for the lights wasn't attached so I connected it and it worked and e-mailed them to tell them I'd fix it. I think the laptop was about half the price of if I had bought it from dell. Next time I buy a laptop it will definatly be from ebay.
