evening all.

ive got a 1992 mini city, the oringal engine has been taken out and been replaced with a 1275 gt, i bought the car off ebay but ive just took the rocker cap off and seen that the head say 12G295 on and apparntly this is only for a 998 engine?

can anyone help ?

its just that head though mate, the engine number comes back as it been a 1275 a- series i dint think a 998 head would fit it though.

wouldn't be the first time an engine number has been changed; Does it have removable tappet chest covers on the back of the block?

I'm not sure the small bore heads will work with the large bore block but i'll leave it to some of the more experienced to comment on that

on the head when i take the rocker cap off it says 12g94 but the engine code now says its a metro engine !

Then the head is probably a 12g940 head, 1275. Does the thermostat housing poke straight out or is it angled slight toward the head lamp area??

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

just count the welsh plugs a 1275 has 4 at front and 2 on the side i think?

where as a normal block pre 1275 don't?

i forget now to dark to look out side hehe.
