Hi all

I'm looking for a narrow intercooler and came across this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...#ht_1861wt_1038

Only thing is its far too long. Before i asked the company if the can supply a specific size, is there a reason the i/c is so long? Does it matter if the i/c is too thin that it will affect the efficiency so the length is increased to compensate this. I could get away with a 3" deep i/c but really need a core length of about 15". Would this still be effective or am i looking to deep into it?

Thanks

What do you mean, why is it so long ? it's as long as it is. Just because it's too long for you, doesnt mean its extra long.

It looks like a perfectly normal length of an IC to me.

But given how small it is, chances are it would be pretty crap. It would probably cool ok, but be quite restrictive. But that would also depend how much air you intend to push through it.

Buy a core size that is suitable for your needs. Dont just buy the cheapest core you can regardless of anything else.

And thin cores are more efficient at cooling than thick cores for any given area.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

The plan is not to buy the cheapest but to get an i/c that works the best without the loss of the cooling efficiency of the i/c in the first place.
Hi Paul. Will take a look at the R5 i/c. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks again guys
