hi all. iv got a set of mini spares hi lift roller tip rockers with a solid spacer kit. the problem is at hi rpm in 4th some times 3rd gear my valves are sticking (not consistently) the head is new but not sure if its the head at fault or the rockers the guy who built the head said it could be the valves sticking when heat has built up. he will take the head back and fix it however i want to eliminate my workmanship first before i remove and send it back.
the valve clearances are correct for cam and rocker gear the only thing i can think of is the spacers and shims between the rockers and posts ect. the instruction manual that can with the rockers just said to make sure there was free movement however there is free movement but maybe not enough? does anyone know of a correct clearance so i can check with a feeler gauge between the shims and spacers? or if anyone has any over suggestions as to what it could be it will be much appreciated
thanks
matt

Rockers won't affect sticking valves. Are the roller tips properly aligned?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Are you sure that it's not the valve springs binding as a result of the extra lift?

What symptoms do you have?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if the head has manganise guides the gold ones fitted, and these have not been reamed when pressed in, theres you problem when the head warms up.

its usuall the exhaust valves which cop for it first! ....

roller tips are properly aligned, springs dont appear to look as if they would bind, what happens if im to give it a skin fall at fall throttle mainly in 4th gear at 4000-4500 it will be pulling like a train and then run on 3 cylinders guessing its an exhaust valve sticking open cos my mate was behind me when it happened and he said he saw lots of flame shoot out the exhaust. once this has happend i stick in in neutral let it coast for 30 sec or so and i get 4 cylinders back again lol so im thinking its what benross has suggested . looks like im going to have to send the head back
