Hi Guys,

Decided the Mini must be back on the road this year. With buying a house in 2009 then lossing my job and taking on a triumph herald project in 2010 the mini hasn't been out in a long time. Just need afew pointers.

1st,
Brake servo, not sure i need it, I added it a few years ago with the idea of making it easier to go from driving a modern car back to the mini. I'm thinking it takes up to much space and isn't doing anything. I've got metro 4 pots with vented disks on the front and standard drums at the back. What do people think?

2nd,
Oil cooler. Its currently down betwen the gearbox and the subframe but i think i might remove it. The engine spec is a 1380, stage 4 head, 1.5:1 rockers, 286 cam and the bike carbs. The fiat rad does a very very good job of keeping it cool so i don't think the 13row cooler is helping.

3rd
oil temp gauge, Thinking its a good idea to keep an eye on. How do most of the sensor get fitted? some form of sump plug?

4th,
has any one used Northampton motorsport for rolling road? what was the impression?

Sorry for the mass of questions. I now work in a office full of girls they just don't understand.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

1. man up and push the pedal a bit harder.

2. get an oil temp gauge and see if you actually need a cooler

3. The van's is taped into the speedo housing in the sump, alternatively you could get a take of like a turbo oil feed in the oil pressure sensor hole in the block

4. We had the TM rolling road day there, impressions where good.

1) if it is fitted, I'd personally keep it, but i've gone soft driving power assisted everything daily's!

2 & 3) you need to see what temp the oil is running at first so I suppose that answers the 3rd question; Is that a remote filter housing you are using? is there not provision for a temp sender on it anywhere?

4) don't know anything about them

now get your arse into gear and get it back on the road!

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Some times it would be tempting. Women can be sooo bitchy working together.

So take the cooler off and fit a temp sensor. Big question keep the servo or dump it? Is it doing anything or just taking-up space.

no, fit a oil temp gauge and see if you need to remove the oil cooler.

Dump the servo!

As my project has taken years, you meaning march 2011? ;O)
On the servo, I like them on 2 pot calipers but on metro 4 pots I find there is less feel to the pedal.

iv got metro 4pots and i find them fine without a servo and it takes up space, but fit a oil temp gauge to see if you need the cooler or not
