Hi all. Got a metro turbo that won't start got mobile car electrician out around a month ago all it was was the wire on the starter motor was loose then the freeze came and had not turn the metro over so thought it best to so wouldn't seize over wouldn't turn over then suddenly 5minutes into trying to start her suddenlly she starts cranking her self over didn't start but turn ignition off but still cranking so had to switch it of by the kill switch fitted quick breather lol so went start today and I turn the battery on through the kill switch and all dashboard lights come on but won't turn over checked the starter motor wire nice and tight then notice wen battery on a small black box with 12v 30a on it starts to smoke as soon as I turn the battery on and help would be great ps sorry for the life story

and breath..........

if the starter was still going without the key turned, it sounds like a sticking solenoid in the starter.

Lol any idea about the smoke little box or could this be linked to a sticky solenoid

you've burnt a relay out for the ignition and starter circuit. our van does it sometimes

pull the relay out, push the new one in. motor factors should have one

Cheers mate sorry no machanic bought this car drove it home then nothin but problems only had down the drive once

You should have read the AD then,

Most on here are familer with the metro you bought.......
i must say there was better out there.....:(

Hi there my metros been nothing but problems either its part of the fun lol I've had a similar problem tried starting my metro turbo the other day & the starter was spinning but wouldn't crank the motor then all of a sudden was working fine so presume a sticky starter & I had the cranking problem when the key was off & it was just the goldy coloured relay fixed to the battery tray was damp after a day in the airing cubard problem solved hope this helps
