How many people use them? What are they like compared to the a539? Wet and dry? Cheers.

There a very good tyre, though for road use a set will only last 5000 miles.

shitty on wet , but awesome on dry, near full sticky ones, prepare to buy a few by year.
A539 are good on dry, sticky on wet and have a long life.

Only managed 3k on mine with the medium compound other than that its a good tyre for a car that is little used and used hard. They are a bit of a nightmare in the wet. the 539 is an excellent all rounder and you get miles of use out of them not to worry about.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

They are not a road tyre. People using R tyres for the road are posers.

Don't use my car for work, but its more than a good weather car, probably will stick with the a539, good old english weather.

Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Picked up A048s at a show last year - full set from MWS £300.

Will let you know how they perform in March (once I'm MOT'd).

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I run these in medium compound, very good on the track but not really that suitable for the road, they will pick up every little stone and lump of shit before throwing it on the car.

Do look good though if thats what youre in too!

They are very good tyres brilliant through the summer months! A539 are also very good I'm currently pricing them up for my Renault.

A539 better suited for general road use. I was surprised at how well the a048 performed in the wet at the brunters track day. Plenty of top speed runs and performed better than expected on standing water!
