Is it possible to run wider wheels on the back of a fwd car without making it handle like a dog or say front wheels are a smaller dia then rear could you use spacer to bring them out abit inline with rears ano the rear tyres still have more tyre in contact with the ground or even stick the wider ones up front any help would be great

leeds/wakefield.

Sean, any amount of spacers will not increase the dia of a wheel,

i would suggest that unless you have a lot of front end grip putting more rubber in the rear than the front will cause understeer,

I've just read that three times. Is it something to do with wheels?

Until last night our van had 13x7 on the rear and 13x5 or 13x5.5 on the front.

They are soon to be replaced by wheels with different offsets front and rear, meaning the rear wheels stick out further.

We tried it with 13x7's on the front too, but it was dangerous...

EDIT: Didn't seem to make the understeer any worse, but the best condition tyres where on the front

I used to run 4.5x12 front and 6x12 rear and i loved the hanndeling of that. my force wheels are 6x10f and 6.5x10 rear not yet used them but they look bloody cool lol.
I found that wider stretched rears gave more of an oversteer style which i like down to preferance personally.
