Hiya,

I have just fitted a Bailey piston type dump valve and have connected the actuating pipe to the inlet manifold. The dump valve works fine but I notice at idle throttle closed the dump valve is open as there is a vacuum in the inlet manifold. As a result of this the dump valve is open to atmosphere so surely unfiltered air can now enter the plenum through the dump valve? Is this correct?

Thanks

If you fit a recirculating dump valve and put the dumped air back into the inlet between the air filter and the turbo inlet there would be no problem.

Thanks I was just worried about the unfiltered air but I guess as it's only ever open on idle the chances in ingesting some crap are pretty slim
