Any tips for a newbie to the mini metro scene on how to get the power down. Only had the pleasure of driving my metro turbo once but can't seem to get the power down till late into 2nd gear

Any help would be great cheers

Good set of tires gotta be first thing, I use yoko a539 and there ok, seem to get a little bit of spin in 1st and 2nd on boost, torque steer just hold tight and correct it as much as you can, you can set up the front end to minimise torque steer, but its a little over my head.

Learn to pull away. basicaly you cant just bring revs up and drop the clutch if you want to not spinn up.

bring the revs up
pull the clutch up to bite point
gradually ease clutch in
aswell as ease power on
a little bit of wheel spin.

the best thing you can do is learn your car lo just drive it you will find the best way that suits you.

after that hold on sit tight and dont poop ur pants!

also having a rose jointed suspencion setup apposed to bushes will help reduce this.

Why would this make a difference? There are lots of ways to improve grip on the front, but generally to the detriment of cornering. I'm not saying it can't be improved, but lets face it a mini or metro with 140 bananas is never going to be able to use full power in first.

I wouldn't go that far, but post a detailed thread (including punctuation) with what you've tried doing to get it running and the symptoms and no doubt you'll get a few more help full replies.

Yes will do- To be honest not much I switched the relay which stopped it smoking and checked for loose connections. The power just doesn't seem to be reaching the starter motor

daft question, but is your battery flat?

Sounds like you need to get your multimeter out and do some testing.

The relay on the battery box runs the starter. If it's pre engaged, you can just run a wire from the batter and carefully touch it on the small terminal on the starter with the ignition on. Should prove whether it's wiring or the starter

Battery is ok.

previous owner relocated the battery to the boot very badly so problem could lie there.

Just puzzled because it was running before and haven't touched it since and now it won't start.

I Will have ago tomorrow and she if you idea will start the BEAST lol

check the basics too. sounds like the starter is running (burnt relay was over heated from over use??), but your missing either fuel or spark or both.

Check the fuel pump is running and that your ignition stuff is right. Fuel pressure should be 3.5psi at idle

The fuel has a cut of switch so will focus on ignition side of things.

im not saying that it will completly cure the problem. but with less flex in the bushes (ie the rosejoints) its can only help with the torquesteer problem.

The car has a battery kill switch so left battery off so should be fine.

But when it was cranking its self I did use the switch to kill power maybe I have caused an electrical problem somewhere. Long days worth of rooting about tomorrow I think lol
