Hello,

Here to bother everyone again,

Is it possible to install the supercharger without pulling out the engine? Main concern is the crank pully, I need to swap that as well as the timing cover. I am not sure if the pully is pressed on, doesn't look like there is much room for a puller even without the rad in there.

Any tips?

Unless you have a removable front end then you'll need to pull it out. You'll need to mock up space and placement for different parts and it's a pain in the arse attempting it with a hefty piece of tin/FG/CF in the way. Plus you always run the risk of smacking something onto the bodywork.

I managed to fit mine with the engine in, like minx says, the pulley is a bastard, but not impossible. The rad needs to be out and you'll need the right hand engine mount off and the engine jacked up slightly on that side. I had to modify that engine mount slightly so got clearance on the pulley.

Would info it that way again? I think so yes, beats fucking about with poly engine mounts for 3 hours trying to get them

it's not hard at all use a bearing puller or something to get the balancer off make sure it is pushing on the centre will easy come out.

think take time you will be sweet :)

Same Idea with the fan pully- will I need a puller as that too?

also, what did you find was the best way to stop the engine from turning over?

Seems simple enough, just more grunt work than anything.

leave the engine in gear, and have someone sit on the brakes.

fan pulley just comes off with the 4 bolts, not puller required.

I would pop down to your local machine mart and buy a breaker bar...

i used a screw driver & took the starter out to lock up the ring gear on the starter.

i forget what ft pound the big nut is when you do it back up though.. make sure you get it right it's connected to the crank!

some one on here will know.

i think it's 70ft at a wild guess.

did all mine with the engine in. found it easy. just jack the engine on that side after removing the engine mount bolts. Got to be easier and faster than pulling the engine out...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Its easier on an MPI as you dont need to swap the crank pulley!
