Unless you have a removable front end then you'll need to pull it out. You'll need to mock up space and placement for different parts and it's a pain in the arse attempting it with a hefty piece of tin/FG/CF in the way. Plus you always run the risk of smacking something onto the bodywork. On 2nd Nov, 2010 wil_h said:

I managed to fit mine with the engine in, like minx says, the pulley is a bastard, but not impossible. The rad needs to be out and you'll need the right hand engine mount off and the engine jacked up slightly on that side. I had to modify that engine mount slightly so got clearance on the pulley.

as above.. jack engine on one side after you take the engine mount of to put the pulley on.

Same Idea with the fan pully- will I need a puller as that too?

leave the engine in gear, and have someone sit on the brakes.

i used a screw driver & took the starter out to lock up the ring gear on the starter.

did all mine with the engine in. found it easy. just jack the engine on that side after removing the engine mount bolts. Got to be easier and faster than pulling the engine out... I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Its easier on an MPI as you dont need to swap the crank pulley! |
