SC/CR box and 3,1 diff?? That must be totally horrible. How is it off the line?

Why horrible?!! Mr MiniWilliams runs a 2.9:1 CWP and thats not slow! *surprised*

With a tall SC first gear and the 3,2 first gear must be like 3 on a standard Mini. I haven't calculated ratios yet...
Slow off the line and maximum top speed are two different things..

Obviously top speed would be fantastic if the engine mangaged to pull to 7K rpm in top.

I ran a 3.2 with a SC gearkit and 1:1.04 drop gears.

1st was a pig to get rolling, but I could do 50mph! Theoretical top speed was 152 mph :)

With 126bhp at the wheels (from Baldwins RR) my car was fantastic - in the pub *wink*

drives absolutely fine from what i can tell, not launched or anything yet as im bedding engine in, was told this is best to go for with 13" wheels and it being sort of a daily driver aswell as a few drag runs, can nearly stall it off line if you dont give it enough revs, does just about 1 gear change to 60 though aint that good enough? guy i took it to be tuned says that its pullin around 130, 135 bhp at the mo. think he used his g meter.

3.1 will be fine, my mates 1380 NA runs that set up with no probs, and will give a good kick through the gears. if you have loads of grunt then make the most of it .

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

How much was the gearbox in total? Whats the best ratio for a standard engine and boost? 3:2?

my gear box from simon at morspeed was ?1000 including a x pin diff and straight cut drops i thought this was bloomin cheap, and ITS buy no means cheap. every thing inside is brand new, well chuffed with it, simons a top bloak. my ratios work lovely with 13" wheels, sits nice all round, little bit tall in first but buy no means a problem, 3.2 is the crown wheel/pinion ratio.
