Hi,

i bought some spareparts and one off the parts is a crankshaft.
Now is the clutch still attached to the crank. It has been taken out off the engine completely. The only way possible to do that is to cut up the transfercasing.

But i used the flywheel puller, no luck. I tried to press the crank out but at 3 ton off pressure i stopped.
I think that the C clip is holding everything together. But what be the best way to get the parts sepparated?

I am thing of to cut up the clutch, it's the crank that i want to safe.
But maybe you have some usefull info for me?

Can you not remove the back plate bolts and take that of the sping bit on the front and then get at the C washer?

I was thinking to cut the clutchplate en remove the bolts behind it.

I don't see the C washer yet, but like you i'm hoping to get at it someway.

Someone must have had the same problem

I'm sure the C washer can't jam on the verto's, but I will check tomorrow.

If the clutch is a bit welded on then it dosen't supprise me that a 3 ton puller wont shift it,

I estimate the grease gun powered puller I made can make 10-15 ton, and the old churchill hydraulic one I have seems even stronger.

I would suggest grinding of the rivets that hold the clutch spring on, then grinding a flat on out side of the nose of the bit that goes on the taper, you should be able to grind it fairly thin, i reckon it'll come off then.

I have done this and grinded until i saw a little crack.
Gave the rest of the clutch a wack with a hamer and i fell off.
So now i have a spare crank and some scrap metal.

Thanx for the advice:)

Yes, it hitted the nose off the crank ones but i don't see a problem in that. It has still enough material to grip the clutch.

I thought it would be scrap because it would not come off, but is mint:)
