Ok my previous topic won't start/backfires. I may have a clue I've put this rotor arm on it's from a local motor shop however I now believe it's wrong http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=37135&title=

Do you know which arm I need?

Would this cause backfire and it not to start?

You claim you have a spark at each plug. So clearly the rotor arm is working.

But it is appearing everything didnt go back exactly as it came apart......as you've changed this at least.

Everything went back but I replaced the cap and arm for good measure! I read onthe minispares website this arm is for all electronic dizzys except turbos wasn't sure if perhaps it sits in the wrong position

But again...you have already said you have a spark at each plug....even though you dont have a clue if the spark is at the right time.

So do you have spark or dont you ?

If you're getting a spark then you dont need plugs and leads either.
What is the problem you're having?

I seriously doubt it!

Ok...

Do this...

Take number one spark plug out.

put a finger over the spark plug hole.

turn the engine over by hand until you feel air pressure against your finger.

put a screwdriver down the plug hole and keep turning the engine by hand until you feel the piston come to the top.

remove the distributor cap and look to see where the rotor arm is pointing to.

put no1 lead on the socket that the rotor arm points to

put no4 lead on the opposite one to no 1

put no3 lead on the next one anti clockwise form no1.

start it up.

Best advice ever! *Rofl!*

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
