Hi there, :)

I have my new project coming in summer so want to be fully prepared, especially to prepare list of parts what I needed!

so I have bought standard metro turbo engine and want to:

Run easy and healthy - near or better more than:
# 180+ bhp
# 17psi boost
# 120mph
# thinking to keep my t3 turbo as I have one or can be changed as better!!!
# take part in some drag-race events!

1. what exactly I will need to change in my engine and what should be strengthen to not blow it up??
engine spec to achieve it?

2. What is your specs?
3. any advice from your own experience pay attention on to avoid??

4. some advice on brakes or other important parts to hold the car would be perfect if not engine spec will do as well :)

5. I want to keep A series engine, how ever were thinking about 4x4 mini- what would be you option and why??

Thanks you!

Nothing special!

Engine spec not only depends on what power you want but where you want the power and how it gets applied. Do you want an out and out high revver, or a more drivable but slightly less powerful number. Alot of people use 1293 which is well proven now but there's a few higher cc'd motors coming into the turbo scene now. I dont understand the 4x4 bit because you say you want to stay a series but considering 4 wheel drive and both things together don't really happen apart from some very rare cars in rallying past which where one offs.

Somewhere around Swindon

i think bhp targets are pointless pub talk no point in having a 180bhp peaky horrible to drive car

Personally i would build the best bottom end you can afford anything from there can be changed and swapped about

Yea, I would love to keep my A series engine, However I am thinking of 4x4 as well:) just can not decide :(
it depends on result what I am going to gain from engine after spending maybe same amount of $$$

That why I am asking for your help and your engine specs! Also any advice - what you would do different if you would tune your engine again from beginning *wink* ( any mistakes or saved money where you should not, or buy other parts.....ect..)

drag racing is pure demonstration of power to weight ratio, more power + less weight = faster

i would make a list of all the 150+ bhp cars/ drivers/ owners on here and read from start to finnish there build threads

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Turbo:
*MAT25S2 hybrid T25 turbo OR GT17 turbo?
*standard Carburetor or injection?

Engine:
*CR 8.5:1
* 1275 (+40)
*cylinder head 35mm/29mm ported 11 stud
OR 36mm/31mm ported 11 Stud
Or 8 port? possible?
* Crank - balanced, wedged
* 8 roller tip rockers (1.25-1/ 1.3-1/ 1.5 /1.7-1)?? thinking of 1.5?
*Camshafts??

Gear Box:
*central oil pick up
*close ration gears
*Straight cut 4 pin OR LSD? cross pin diff?
*What about Gear ratio Drop?

*flywheel - lightened
clutch verto or non-verto ?

Any suggestions?? :)
