Annoyingly my boot lock now refuses to unlock. I've even tried the spare key but it still refuses to unlock. Its the later type of boot handle and lock. Any suggestions? Its not frozen!! Without the boot open I can't jump start the car or even get to my tool box *surprised*

The key is not smooth going in either. Same with both the keys. The same keys are fine with the door locks. Whats the best way of busting the lock then? Screwdriver and hammer? *oh well*

Cheers

Turn the key in the lock with mole grips? I've tried that, don't want to snap the key off in there? I'll try again.

have you dosed it in WD40 or something similar? failing that, as Nick suggests a big pair of mole grips or stilsons should break it

is the body work in good nick? you cane sometimes spring it open as well but is usually involves a bit of paint damage (had the car borken into twice this way!)

Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Long shot but have you got holes/ speakers in your parcel shelf - i.e. get your arm in there and undo the nuts from the hinges, hey presto boot off. Hardly convenient for shopping but might allow you to take the handle off and have a proper poke about with it?

NickG was right!

Someone said on TMF the pins are getting stuck, whack it with a rubber mallet so I gave it a try and hey presto! It still jams when I lock it again so I guess a new lock is needed as the pins in this one are retiring?

Just means I'll have to carry a rubber mallet around for a while!
