The best thing i ever bought was a ultra light steel flywheel from the sandown mini show for ?40 years back and still going strong.

the worst thing was one of them magnectic oil trap from minispares which goes at the back of the box it costs ?18 and i think they are a total waist of time, it was one with the gauze on it and for the first time i used it they was hardley no bits on it but had to remove the gauze as it got bent and it with the gauze removed it picks up bugger all because it isnt realey long enough.

still it would be nice to see what other peoples bits were like!!!.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

The best thing I've bough was a set of original Ripspeed hi-los for ?20, again years ago, but they're still going strong.

The worst thing I've bought was an engine from Jonspeed. The centre main strap was machined wrong which ment the thrust washers weren't located. They spun round and foocked the block and crank. Needless to say they didn't build my current engine.

Rear antiroll bar, fking brilliant beyond belief, it just makes the car go around corners right. That's a 14mm bar with no adjustment, you have no idea how good these things are. I can go around corners so much faster. With tracking brackets, you can control the sort of drift you get. Absolutely brilliant.

Worst thing Minispares GP-5 arches, the expensive ones. They look like they have been made by a kid, I'm not sure how they are meant to go on, as they look like they are for a different car. Downright horrendous. If I met Keith Dodd, I would shout at him, he has also sold me some other overpriced shit as well.

The antiroll bar is the 2nd best thing I have, the first being a Bini Supercharger *happy*

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

I think my best purchase was probably a complete metro turbo in the scrappy for ?60. I sold the wheels and trim for ?40 and ?30 so made a tenner and got the rest free.

Worst purchase.......Metro engine from a scrapyard with the correct engine number to be unleaded and looked unmolested. It wasn't unleaded as I found out when it ground to a halt in the outside lane of the M40 8 months later when the valve clearances closed up and wore the cam out to a stick with 8 circles on it......

Best: T2 turbocharger
Worst: Lucas Gold coil that caused big problems and lead to me purchasing a weber alpha injection kit, then realising what the problem was!

Best thing is my mini is self. Bought when it was only 3 years old (1991 H) for ?2700 and I still have it. Still worth at least ?1500 so it is the least depreciating car I will ever own. (Just needs a turbo now)

Worst thing is a seat for one of my minis. Soon after fitting it the car was written off. It transpired that every mini the seat had been in had suffered major accidents....it was a cursed seat and has been destroyed.

DING DING, thanks for that, my N/A 1275 was a tyre smoker until I fitted a rev counter, explains it all. We couldn't get a sensible reading off the strobe. It played hell with the ignition. THATS WHAT IT WAS. The engine is in bits now.......too late. Shit.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.
