Hi all

Just looking into buying parts for my metro turbo and am after around 160bhp can anyone tell me what to put on my shopping list.

Also striped the interior of my metro and only need the dash so any one is welcome to the parts if they will pay postage-courier.

Any help would be great.

Cheers sean

To be honest the power of it seemed good besides not being able to put it down.

But need to pull the engine out so I can spray the bay and would like more power.

Cheers sean

Might be a good idea to strip the engine down and see whats actually in there first then. If it's good then put it back together, if its not upgrade it!

Ye that's my plan I'm a bit scared of touching the bottom end lol as I want to do it all my self.

But no good putting a great head and turbo combo if the bottom can't take it!

The fella I bought it off told me it had omega pistons and the lot but I don't have much faith in him.

I suppose a strip down will tell me all I need to no.

a couple hours on the roller and properly set up would be first choice imo, if you cant get its current power down why need more?

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

I'd be looking at the suspension geometry.

Our metro van was running around 150bhp on a standard box and we could get the power down.

Surely if your having problems get the power down with what you already have then surely it would be worth sorting that out before getting more power.

If in doubt... flat out! The words of a true legend

I'd be checking the ARB bushes first, these fall apart on mettys,

then look to see if the rear has the hydrospastic interconnected (as std) or wether it has been seperated, if it has the corner weights are probably all to cock which will screw the traction.

also you dont want the (front) shocks turned up too stiff.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I suggest the first thing you think about upgrading is your suspension. No point adding more power when you can't drive it properly!

I'd also suggest a strip down. Of the engine of course *happy*

The thing that made the biggest difference with my setup was changing the wheel offset and tyres.

If I remember rightly his metro is running std cross-spokes so should be ok.

When we tried stupid offset wheels on the van is became a weapon of mass death!

If you go on turbo-mini.com there's a section for engine building, have a look, tells you everything you need.
