Do you mean creep up behind them and shout "BOO!"?

Seriously though reviving batteries never really works for long. It may prolong their life a bit, but you really need new ones. As you have probably found though it is cheaper to buy a new drill!

or split the battery casing and solder in new cells, had to do it with one of my snap on guns , got water damaged once they replaced it FOC, but didnt have the cheek to hand it back a second time after the same thing happened (battery just happened to be lying under a leak in the internal guttering)

this happened with my Bosch gear last year - 4 drills, 6 batteries all fecked. I looked into new batteries but I was cheaper in the long run with ne gear in the end - moved onto Hitachi stuff now.

The guys on the sites though like the Panasonic stuff - apparently battery life is superb.

MS Paint flat cap champion & Morris Ital Lover

From Sheffield now live in York tha noz

Its up to you but I wouldnt mess about with them, I had a cordless I used everyday for 6 months or so, mid range make, put a freshly charged battery on it one day, picked it up to use it and without warning it blew one of the cells in the battery, went off like a grenade, blew the bottom of the battery off and scared the shit out of me in the process-luckily no harm done other my soiled undergarments. Had some 24v bosch battries re-celled once they worked but were never as good as the propper batteries.

Panasonic make some of the best cordless stuff out there. Both in terms of power and size !

But they aint cheap either. Usually can work out cheaper to buy new gear than start buying a load of batteries.
best to get all tools same voltage. Then if you need batteries, buy a different tool so you can work up a good collection and just swap batteries as needed.

Be carefull putting large currents through dead or unknown cells.

Your NiCd or NiMh cells are under high internal pressure and can explode (the +ve end blows out) showering you with hot electrolyte. If you look carefully these cells have small holes in the positive terminal, these are the the vents to the safety pressure valve. The valve can only pass so much, be warned !!

If you have any tools with Lithium Ion / polymer type cells DO NOT randomly overcharge these. These cells should only be charged to a max of 4.2 volt per cell. They will go over 4.2 volts but this is where it gets a bit dangerous.

Also if your lithium batteries go below 3 volts under high load or you find that after storage tey are below 3volts dont even bother trying to charge.
