Will a mertro gearbox fit straight to a 1275 a+ engine?

if its a genuine turbo box, it will have a larger nose bearing, meaning you'l need to use the transfer case also,or justchange the bearing......

Ah right thank lads, I'm running a 1275 a+ and have a t2 turbo Will the garbox put up with 12 psi standard ?

im running 12psi just under 120bhp at the wheels on a standard turbo box and std drops, only thing i have changed in it is the diff, to an x-pin diff which is a must for that power!!

it has been fine for the last 2 years

if however you plan to wheelspin eveywhere and launch it hard all the time you might come a cropper

As a minimum I would replace the diff with a 4 pin one. The factory ones are a big weak point.

We're putting about 150bannas through a standard helical box and so far it has taken it.

IMO, bearing condition is as important as the condition of the gear set.

My one has only just recently turned to dust, and thats a 66k mile engine, at standard-ish boost....

Good thing i have a spare S/C box.....
