I've just welded in my turbo box, obviously cutting through the blanking plate area on the crossmember where the "ultimate" type steady moutned. What have people used instead, I always suffered from a wobbly engine, so with proper mounts fitted again and an adjustable titanium top steady I think it might be a bit better than standard steady and those quick (crap) release mounts. With this being a road car, and frequent enthusiastic starts off the line etc I want the engine secure.

What have you guys done? Anyone got any pics of nearside steadies?

Heres what I've got at the moment:

It looks a bit weedy to me, and I think it might tear off my bulkhead brackets.

I made a plate that fits to the crossmember so that I can use the waterpump type steady.

Had the same problem so welded in an L shaped bracket on the angle of the bulkhead which had 3 off 3/8 unf studs welded into it (pictured red oxide in the photo).

I then made up a steady bracket to bolt to the 3 studs in thick ali to take a normal adjustable steady bar from the water pump.

Good luck.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Cheers Lizard for that, I think that's what I'll do aswell.

Drove it today, the solid steadies realy do transmit alot of vibration!
